Rate lookup

What was the rate on a past date?

Pick a date, and a lender or rate type if you like, to see the rates lenders were advertising that day.

These are advertised rates. Each figure is the rate the lender advertised to everyone on its own website at the time, as this site read it. It isn't the rate any particular person was offered or signed for: the rate you got could have been lower or higher, depending on your situation, the lender's discounts, the date your rate was held and the terms of the product.

Where these figures come from

Since October 2026 this site has saved every lender's advertised rates each day, read from the lenders' own websites. Earlier figures, back to the first saved date, come from archived copies of the lenders' own rate pages saved by the Internet Archive, at irregular times, so some dates fall between readings; those are marked. The Bank of Canada's policy rate and prime rate come from the Bank's official data. Where a lender listed both posted and special-offer rates, the figure is the special-offer rate; GIC rates are for non-redeemable GICs unless marked redeemable. See the rate history charts for how rates moved over time.

Information only, not financial or legal advice. To confirm the rate in a past agreement, check your own documents or ask the lender.
